A polysaccharide is a large molecule made of many smaller monosaccharides. Monosaccharides are simple sugars, like glucose. Special enzymes bind these small monomers together, creating large sugar polymers, or polysaccharides.

As we age, our collagen production slows down.  Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1000x it's weight in water, so is great for dry & crepy skin, especially aging skin, hence the reason you find it added to shampoos & lotions, predominantly for the face and geared towards people 30+, as it's great for plumping and retaining moisture, thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines.
I was asked fairly recently if I had a 'plumping' lip product (in the works), and after much research, decided to give this a try.  I've been working closely with hyaluronic acid in a number of different applications, including but not limited to lip treatments, face lotions and body lotions, and have found it to be especially beneficial in both face, chest, neck (decollatage) and under eye applications.
My serum doesn't contain alcohol or preservatives like commercial products, and comes housed in a bottle or air locked roller to  ensure a much longer shelf life (6 months).
Wannabee's newest lotion pairs perfectly with my face serum, and is about the size of a lipbalm tube, which can be carried easily in the smallest of purses/clutches.  It's used primarily as an eye treatment.  🙂 🐝
