Bilberries are native to Europe and are different from North American blueberries, although the species are closely related and belong to the same genus. Bilberries are found in acidic, nutrient-poor soils throughout the temperate and subarctic regions of the world and contain high amounts of naturally occurring tocopherols (Vitamin E) and Omega 3 fatty acids. What this means is that this oil has the ability to penetrate the surface of the skin and help to restore hydration, offering high levels of moisturization and cellular regeneration. This uplifting butter is rich in hydration, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth.
Bilberry is especially beneficial as a topical treatment for skin impairments and dry skin caused by oxidative stress. As a cream, it significantly improved hydration in the top layer of the skin.  Bilberry extract is effective in reducing sun damage to skin cells from UV exposure due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
